Tom Brady's Focused On Getting His Kids Ready For School

 

Tom Brady has a lot on his plate over the next few weeks, parenting his three kids — Vivian, 11, Benjamin, 14, and Jack, 16 — and getting them ready to hit the books again is at the top of his list.

Speaking to People recently, the legendary football player said of his kids, that he’s “getting them prepared to go back to school where they should be, learning and getting back with their friends and getting back to a better rhythm.”

Aside from that, Brady’s “getting ready for Fox to do my job” since he’s set to be a lead analyst on Fox this upcoming NFL season.

If that sounds busy, it is. There’s a lot to do for Brady now that he’s done being on the field, but he’s dedicated to being a great father, according to a fireside chat that he spoke at yesterday (Aug. 16) at Fanatics Fest.

“I got a lot of things that keep me busy but I'm still trying to be a great dad and be there for my kids,” he said.

Earlier this year, Brady got roasted during a Netflix special in which the jokes didn’t just include him, but also sometimes referenced his kids. Days after the roast, Brady voiced how he felt about his family becoming targets of the roast on the Pivot Podcast.

"I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way that it affected my kids," the 46-year-old said. "So it's the hardest part of the bittersweet aspect of when you do something—that you think it's one way, then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way it affected the people I care most in the world."

Kevin Hart, who was the roastmaster and also took a few digs at Brady’s personal life, sat down with Bleacher Report following Brady’s comments and gave his own perspective on what the former football player said.

“When he says he regretted doing it, I think what he’s referring to is, ‘I could have tapered it a little differently, saying or having a conversation before, like, ‘Guys let’s go and do this, but let’s not touch this or this,” Hart said.

Hart almost admitted that he could have done a better job planning what would happen though.

“I love the moment. I love Tom,” Hart said. “I understand why Tom came back and said what he said, but I understand where it’s coming from. And I think when he says that, he just knows that he could have policed it a little better, if he wanted to, but also not being aware of where people were going to go and how they were going to come in, it’s a learning lesson.”

“So moving forward, if we’re roasting somebody and there’s something crazy that they don’t want, then it’s just a conversation beforehand, and people just go around it,” he added.
