Authorities got a hold of former NFL player Zac Stacy, who was on the run after he attacked his ex-girlfriend. On Thursday night (Nov. 18), police arrested the former athlete at the Orlando International Aiport, where he flew in from Nashville ”with the intention of turning himself in.”
Orlando police had issued a warrant for Stacy’s arrest on Wednesday (Nov. 17), four days after his ex Kristin Evans filed for a restraining order against him. Per the warrant, law enforcement sources responded to calls of a domestic disturbance on Saturday (Nov. 13). and discovered Evans with food in her hair and a torn shirt as well as a television that was knocked over.
In her request for a protective order, Evans claimed that she was assaulted several times by the former running back, who was hospitalized for a mental illness earlier this year; A jealous rage over a 2020 incident, she explained, prompted Saturday’s violent attack.
The graphic footage captured as Stacy tossed his ex-girlfriend into a TV that eventually fell onto her. Despite her pleas for him to stop, he punched her a few times, picked her up off the floor and threw her into the baby bouncer before leaving her alone.
The former athlete now faces charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief charges in connection to the assault. He is being held in the Orange County Jail on a $10,150 bond. Per the judge, Stacy can’t contact Evans; he must also give up his passport and firearms.
